Depreciation

Spreadsheet-based depreciation is a thing of the past. Asset4000’s impressive calculation tool makes processing depreciation both quick and easy; it’s one simple step, whether for individual assets or a number of grouped assets.

The Asset4000 module provides a portfolio of internationally agreed depreciation methods without requiring users to add their own formula; some methods include Straight Line, Double Straight Line, Reducing Balance, Variable Rate, Adjusted Declining, Digressive, MACRS, ACRS, adjustments and Residual, Multiple Units of Production (MUOP) and Non Depreciating. All depreciation methods and asset lives can be defaulted for each book based on any defined category. Users can also forecast depreciation as far into the future as desired and can recalculate the current period’s depreciation to reflect updates in the asset register.

Reporting & Forecasting

With a powerful, built-in report engine that provides more than 100 standard reports and thousands of customizable reports, Asset4000 eliminates the need to rely on third-party report writers.

A common reporting function is used across all types of reports, ensuring a single, intuitive method of analyzing and extracting fixed asset information. Asset4000 significantly accelerates the year-end reporting process, where users can select data according to a number of specifications including asset type, purchase value, depreciation method and capitalization date.

Reports can be produced for each accounting book set up within the system to show the status of assets during any accounting period (current, past or forecast). Three levels of sequencing are available for each report; for example, reports can be ordered according to asset type, cost center then department. Information can also be gathered on a single field.

Quickly transform a report summary into a detailed, professional analysis. Reports can be viewed on screen, sent to a printer, emailed or exported to business tools such as Microsoft Excel®.

Data Import Wizard

With RAMI’s Data Import Wizard, raw data (in a range of formats) can be directly imported into the fixed asset register. This tool offers a simple way to import new assets and update existing ones. The Data Import Wizard saves users a significant amount of time by eliminating the need to manually enter or update each asset.

Additional Information

Fixed Asset Transactions
Accessing a summary of events relating to a single asset is now easier than ever before. A full audit history for events including disposals, transfers, asset splits, relifes and revaluations can be accessed in seconds. Asset4000 also enables users to physically and financially move an asset from one cost center to another without re-keying information, saving time and reducing potential input error.

Attaching Fixed Asset Images/Documents
Made possible with Document4000, Asset4000 can display asset images and associated documents such as emails, invoices, purchase orders and contracts. The system develops a centralized database of records then files them into electronic directories. This process can be organized to mirror any paper-based filing system.

Hierarchical Relationships
The ‘Parent/Child’ tab in Asset4000 allows users to establish hierarchical relationships or key dependencies among fixed assets. Links are displayed pictorially in collapsible branches. A typical example might be the association between a PC and software licenses where the PC is the ‘parent’ and the license assumes the role of the ‘child’. The option to transfer or dispose of the ‘child’ asset will subsequently follow the transfer or disposal of the ‘parent’ asset, keeping the relationship intact.
