Large Toyota parts manufacturer selects Series4000 to manage fixed assets
Auto Parts Manufacturing Mississippi Inc. is a large, $200 million-dollar plant based in Guntown, Mississippi that provides stamped parts, body weld parts, and plastic parts to Toyota's automotive manufacturing facility based in north Mississippi.
The finance team at Auto Parts Manufacturing Mississippi Inc. had been using Excel spreadsheets to manage all the fixed assets at the 100-plus acre facility, including: buildings, structures, machinery, furniture, equipment, dies, jigs, and software. According to Accounting Manager, Nathan Turner, who lead the procurement of fixed asset software and the installation, “We were maintaining our book depreciation in Excel and PWC was calculating our tax depreciation while in start up. With our current and expected future growth, we needed to obtain software that could meet our needs and calculate tax depreciation.”
Criteria for the new system included the ability to manage multiple books of depreciation, a simple and effective import/export function, flexible reporting capabilities, and the system had to be user friendly. After evaluating several market-leading fixed asset software packages, the team selected Real Asset Management’s Asset4000 and Project4000 modules to help them achieve accuracy, efficiency, and better reporting on fixed assets. According to Mr. Turner, “We are very impressed with Series4000; the software is as user friendly as any software I have seen.”
Auto Parts Manufacturing Mississippi Inc. hopes to implement the maintenance and inventory modules in their maintenance department at some point in the future.
