PAR Electrical Contractors Implements CMMS solution

Commonwealthcu logo PAR had been using spreadsheets to manage the maintenance of thousands of fixed assets, a gargantuan task that led to inconsistencies and had the potential to eventually become unmanageable. Fleets Special Projects Manager, Terry Malone, headed the search for maintenance software that was flexible, scalable, and most importantly a solution that could be implemented across the company at numerous locations.

Based in Kansas City, Missouri and with offices across the United States, PAR Electrical Contractors is one of the largest outside plant electrical contracting companies in North America. The company handles largecapital transmission, distribution, and substation projects, and as part of Quanta Services, PAR has access to the largest staff of qualified union line crew personnel within the United States and more than 20,000 equipment pieces.

PAR had been using spreadsheets to manage the maintenance of thousands of fixed assets, a gargantuan task that led to inconsistencies and had the potential to eventually become unmanageable. Fleets Special Projects Manager, Terry Malone, headed the search for maintenance software that was flexible, scalable, and most importantly a solution that could be implemented across the company at numerous locations.

After exploring their options with leading CMMS providers, PAR Electrical moved forward with the implementation of Real Asset Management's Maintenance5000. According to Malone, "We needed a web-based, national solution that was highly customizable; Maintenance5000 had the flexibility to meet our needs and pricing was attractive as well." At PAR Electrical, spreadsheets have been replaced with modern software, and 90 users have access to Maintenance5000 which is used to manage thousands of rolling stock items and construction equipment.
